The Countess of Wessex to open Royal Windsor Flower Show

The Royal Windsor Rose & Horticultural Society are delighted that The Countess of Wessex will be opening the 115th Royal Windsor Flower Show alongside celebrated gardener Alan Titchmarsh on Saturday 11 June 2022 in its new home the York Club, Windsor Great Park.

The Show, which is the annual celebration of the Royal Windsor Rose & Horticultural Society, has a long history of Royal patronage. Indeed, the Society was founded by Queen Victoria and has had the honour of six Royal Patrons over its 130-year history. The Society’s current Patron is Her Majesty The Queen and the Show will form part of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations marking her 70 years of service.

A centre point of the Show will be The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Garden generously sponsored by Property Partners and created and designed by award-winning Alan Williams of Landform Consultants, industry leaders and specialists in creating high-quality landscapes, gardens, and spaces.   The garden will be placed in front of the York Club and will be the location for the photocall with the Royal guest and Alan Titchmarsh at 10am on 11th June.

The garden is 15x10metres and takes inspiration from the Union Flag with paths leading visitors through the countryside shown by 4 native trees underplanted with grasses, to an intimate formal central area defined by a yew topiary, scented roses and lavender.  At the heart of the garden will be a custom made Torc pot featuring a Simon Probyn sculpture.  The stunning sculpture signifies the 7 decades of Her Majesty’s reign.  The planting around the sculpture will portray Her Majesty’s love of roses.  Drawing inspiration from the Crown Jewels, there will be a symphony of colour.

The Royal Windsor Flower Show is delighted to have the support of the Property Partnership for this stunning installation.  The Property Partnership are a multi-award-winning independent estate agency with offices in Richmond, Barnes, Sheen and the Surrey Hills, dedicated to providing a positive experience based on a blend of innovation, hard work and socially responsible values.
